Simon Gerovich

Simon is Metaplanet’s Representative Director and President. He has been an active investor in the digital asset ecosystem since 2014. Simon started his career at Goldman Sachs in Tokyo as an equity derivatives trader. He was a co-founder and Chairman of Red Planet Hotels, a regional hotel company focused on Asia’s value hotel sector. Prior to founding Red Planet Hotels, Simon served as the Chief Executive Officer of Evolution Capital Public Company Limited, a real estate asset management company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. As President of Metaplanet, Simon is responsible for spearheading the company's new Bitcoin investment strategy, guiding its overall direction, raising capital, and managing investor relations. He graduated from Harvard University with an AB in Applied Mathematics. Simon is an active member of YPO, the premier global organization of chief executives.

Drew Edwards

Drew is the Head of GMO’s Usonian Japan Equity team and a partner of the firm. Prior to joining GMO in 2020, he served as Portfolio Manager, Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Usonian Investments LLC. Mr. Edwards has been a member of the Usonian team since 2008. Prior to founding Usonian, he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Advisory Research, Inc. Previously, Mr. Edwards had also been an investment professional at Taiyo Pacific Partners, an activist fund backed by CalPERS and W. L. Ross that focuses on Japanese equities, an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, and a finance executive in the healthcare industry. He earned his BA in International Business from Sophia University (Tokyo) and his MBA and JD from Northwestern University.

Shiho is a Japanese attorney with expertise in general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Southeast Asian legal affairs, and litigation. She is an active member of the International Exchange Committee of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, the International Committee of the Tokyo Bar Association, and the Financial Transactions Law Section of the Tokyo Bar Association. Additionally, she holds individual membership in the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Shiho's international legal experience includes working with Kasame & Associates, a local law firm in Thailand, from 2019 to 2020, and Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong, a law firm in Malaysia, from 2017 to 2018. Before becoming an attorney, she worked at Yamaichi Securities, focusing on Japanese equities and other securities sales to individual investors. She also served as an assistant in the equity derivatives institutional sales department and as secretary to the CEO at Solomon Brothers Asia Securities (now Citigroup Securities).
